crisp like an apple

I've been home for more than two weeks now. It's crazy how fast time goes by.
I've noticed a few funny things since I've been back like that I talk with a southern accent more than I ever have in my life, and it doesn't even make sense to have it now. I've been away from Virginia for two years and no one in Seattle speaks with a southern accent... hmmm.... I've also noticed that my formally very stiff mattress now feels like a heavenly cloud to me each night when I sleep. I guess sleeping for 10 months on a "plastic board" will do that to you :)

Really I haven't blogged since I've gotten back but that's mainly because I don't have much to blog about. I love living with my niece right now. She cracks me up. Her favorite things to say to me are "No, No!...... Go." She has these little cherry rainboots that she has to wear everywhere. She calls Dora "Ca Ca," and I have a jar of buttons in my room that she is obsessed with.

Speaking of my room, a big change for me coming back was a new house. My parents moved last October to a new house in a development near Lake Tapps. When we pulled in from the airport at 1am the day I got back the first thing I said was it looks like the neighborhood from "Honey I blew up the Kid." Nice new houses, landscaped but no trees. I miss trees..... But what's really cool is that I can now see Mt. Rainier from my bedroom window. The trade off is we now officially live in a volcano eruption zone. Like seriously there are Volcano Evacuation signs.

Oh and I also got a haircut! Finally. I have been growing my hair out since my sophomore year of college. So for the last 6 years it's been long and half dead. Well, I just got kind of bored of it so I cut it off. No not all of it, but a good chunk. My hairdresser Shannon was like "it's going to take off this much (she shows me approx 6 inches) are you sure you want to do this?" I was like "Yes!" I didn't cry flinch or anything. I was so happy for it to be gone. And I like the cut, it's cute but when I straightened my hair this morning my bangs stuck straight out. I have to find a way to remedy this problem :)
