Snapshots of my weekend

Summer is in full swing here, and, although today was a bit on the chilly side, the last week had me dreaming of swimming pools and Popsicles.  I love it.  And to go along with the wonderful weather I had a pretty busy weekend.
Every year, to help raise money to send the youth to camp and youth conferences the youth group of my church puts on a yard sale and this year I was actually around to help out with it.  Friday was unbearably hot but I think the sale went pretty well.  We had enough items to open our own goodwill, so it got a little overwhelming for some.  Then with whatevers left, plus boxes of stuff we didn't even put out this time, we're going to have another sale in August, date TBD, so if you're around the DesMoines, WA area you should keep your eyes out.

On Saturday I met up with my friend Jennifer and some of her friends to go on a hike.  We started off with a pancake breakfast and then drove just north of Granite Falls to Heather Lake.  The hike itself wasn't hard, but it was the most difficult one I've been on since Nepal 2 years ago.  I definitely need to train a little more.  We also added to the difficulty by deciding to climb up a boulder field to a waterfall halfway up Mt. Pilchuck but it was totally worth it for he view alone.

Then on Sunday was my cousins daughter Samantha's 3rd birthday.  Friends and family all came together at Sammy's grandparents house in Northbend to celebrate.  They just happen to live right on the river so the setting for the party couldn't have been more beautiful or perfect.

This week is going to be filled with even more adventures, but more will come about that when the adventures draw to a close.  I hope you're all enjoying your summer so far!
